Insurer Of The Year

Multiple Claims

You can make multiple claims for the life of this policy and you can cancel the policy at any time with 30 days written notice with no penalty clauses.

A multiple claim is when you claim more than once on your insurance for accident, sickness or unemployment. However to make a mulitiple claim you must return to work for a period of time between claims. Please see below:

Accident and Sickness claims:

  • You must return to work for 3 months before you can claim incapacity for a condition unrelated to your 'most previous' claim.
  • You must return to work for 6 months before you can make a new incapacity claim for a condition that relates to your 'most previous' claim. If you make a further claim for the same condition within 3 months of the previous claim no waiting period (30 consecutive days loss of income) will be applied but the claim will be treated as one claim period.
  • Once a full duration (12 months) claim has been paid for a particular condition there must be a period of at least 6 months consecutive full-time permanent work before a further claim for that condition can be admitted.

Unemployment claims:

  • You must return to work full time permanent work continuously for at least 6 months before you can make another claim for unemployment.
  • Claims for unemployment which are not separated by a period of at least 3 months full time permanent work will be considered one period of claim.
  • Once a full duration (12 months) claim has been paid there must be a period of at least 6 consecutive months full-time permanent work before you can make a further unemployment claim.
