Top Tips for Buying Safely

This policy is not suitable for everyone, for example those who have sufficient savings to tide them over during short periods of unemployment or those with generous company benefits. Additionally the maximum benefit period you may consecutively claim is 12 months, although you may make multiple claims for the life of the policy, so this policy will not pay you until retirement should accident or sickness prevent you from working again. We want you to feel confident that the product you are buying is right for you, so here are some key things you need to know.

  • Public Service Workers Please check your entitlement for full and half pay while off sick. • Your premiums do not increase for the life of the policy. The premium at the time you take out your policy will remain at that price for the life of the policy, even if you have moved several age bands in the meantime. This is worth remembering if you are takin out just a loan or mortgage repayment in case you decide to increase your cover later as you may incur higher premiums if you have moved into a higher age bracket. If you wish to increase your benefit cover at a later date, and you have moved age bands, the increased benefit amount only will be charged at the new age band premium.
If you wish to increase your monthly benefit once the loan has begun please see "I" for "Increaseing your Benefit" or "C" for "Changing your benefit period or benefit cover" for further details.
