TIPS TO BUY SAFELY
It is your sole responsibility to ensure the policy is right for you as all purchases on this site are non advisory. If in any doubt about the policy or its suitability for you, please consult an independent financial adviser before you buy.
You should ensure you are a permanent resident in the UK and have been working for at least 6 months prior to your application, are actively working for 16 or more hours per week and fully meet the eligibility criteria and not aware of any impending unemployment or disability
Contract, sub-contract workers, the self-employed and those with more than one job have special criteria that applies to them
Please check your sick pay entitlement at work. For example: If you receive 6 months sick pay from work, you have the option to adjust your accident and sickness excess period to 180 days and would benefit from a lower premium as a result. If you receive payment in lieu of notice you are not eligible to receive benefit during that period so you could adjust your unemployment cover excess period to allow for this and reduce your premiums further.
If you have a Pre-existing medical condition you may still qualify for this insurance and be eligible to claim provided your accident or sickness did not directly or indirectly results from your pre-existing condition. Provided certain conditions are met you may qualify to claim irrespective of a pre-existing condition. See 'accident and sickness exclusions’ under “The Important Stuff”
To claim for unemployment you must be registered as unemployed by the Department of Work and Pensions and be registered for Jobseekers Allowance
PURCHASING THE POLICY
If you want to know more about the policy, please email us at antcustomerservices@wessex-group.co.uk or Tel: 0845 189 9035. Lines open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
When deciding whether to buy we recommend that you first print the Terms and Conditions and read through them with a highlighter to hand (and possibly with a strong cup of coffee!). We understand this is not an appealing prospect but in a relatively short time you could ensure that the policy is appropriate for your needs and that you fully understand the claiming criteria; then you will have complete peace of mind that this policy will be there when you need it most. Highlight anything you are unsure about or do not fully understand and contact us for clarification or speak to an independent Financial Advisor.
If you cannot print the Terms and Conditions, remember you have a 30 day cooling off period giving you time to read them when sent with your Schedule of Insurance. If you then feel that the policy is not suitable for your needs you may cancel within the first 30 days with any paid premiums refunded
